In the workplace, it is mandatory to use hearing protection when ambient noise exceeds 85 dB.

Put on the noise-canceling ear-muffs before any exposure to noise and wear them during the whole exposure. Adjust the headband so that the ear cups are at the correct height for your ears and the headband is in contact with your head to support the ear cups.

The ear cups must be in contact with your ears: remove hair or any object between your ears and the ear cups. Tighten the headband on your head, ensuring a good acoustic seal. Regularly check that all components of the noise-canceling ear-muffs are in good condition. This is particularly important for the ear cups.
